We slept well, and the shower head and water pressure were probably my favorite parts after a day exploring. Our room was clean and spacious, with a telescope for looking across at Ms Liberty herself, and complimentary water. The fridge was so quiet I didn’t notice it until we were leaving. We were there in February 2020, off season, and had arrived early from JFK. We stopped by to ask if we could leave our bags while exploring the city for the first time, but Christopher at check-in found us an early room facing the water, an upgraded suite, and was excellent. We didn’t eat at the hotel, though the food service looked good and a little pricey for us. We didn’t use room service or maid service either, but I imagine both would have been excellent. The subway, financial district, and public bus were all close and convenient.

The view from my room was unbeatable. I could see the Statue of Liberty and a stunning stretch of water, and the food was incredible. At The Wagner hotel in NYC, I felt like royalty and had one of the most pleasant experiences of my life. Check-in took a few minutes longer than it probably should have, so they made it up to me with a room worth twice what I was paying. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to chat. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed it. For a special occasion, a honeymoon, or just a treat, do it. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Our room faced the water, with a tremendous view of Statue of Liberty. It was large, fresh smelling, and clean, with comfortable beds and perfect pillows. My son especially enjoyed the deep bath and the telescope. The staff were five stars. We loved our stay!!

The staff were so kind to me, my husband, and our 13 year old son. When we arrived at 9:30 AM, they welcomed us, held our luggage, and helped us work out which subway to take uptown. Our room had an amazing view, and even a normal room is a great size, with a bigger and nicer bathroom than most hotels. It’s right by the water, so you can see the Statue of Liberty lit up at night. It was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. I can’t recommend the place enough and would definitely stay again!

The bed was huge and supportive, and there were plenty of towels and free water bottles around. I also appreciated how many outlets were placed where you’d actually need them. The standard room came with thoughtful extras I wouldn’t have expected, from robes and mouthwash to a tub with minty soap, a separate walk-in shower, shoe shining, and even a telescope for looking at the night sky. What really made the Wagner Hotel stand out was how attentive everyone was. Staff greeted me coming in, opened doors, and welcomed me back after work. The room was spotless, and the quality throughout felt a step above the cramped, sometimes poorly kept NYC hotels I’m used to. For me, that’s what a five-star stay should feel like.
