The owners were kind and accommodating, and the place really is as attractive as the photos suggest. I’ve paid a lot more for much less in Manhattan. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything set up well. There were drinks in the fridge too. You pay extra if you have them, but it’s handy to have them there. McD's is right next door, BK and Subway are close, and there are other places a short walk away if you want something fancier.

The staff were polite, quick to respond, and attentive. I enjoyed the stay and would come back, though I’d ask about the window locks before booking. I told the staff they weren’t working, and I believe they’ll get them fixed soon. I would have rated the stay lower if I thought they wouldn’t. The room felt modern and comfortable, with a full kitchen, windows on both sides for a breeze, and heavy curtains on the east windows to keep out the morning sun. It wasn’t especially noisy for the city. The bathroom has no fan, but ventilation was good enough. WiFi is free, and the TV has HDMI. There’s plenty of food nearby, including a McDonald's next door, though nothing within a couple of blocks is open around the clock. The location may feel intimidating to some, and the place is hard to spot from outside. A bigger concern was that neither type of window lock actually secured the windows, even though the room was several floors up. There is a safe, but that only helps so much. Other annoyances were smaller: the shower took a while to heat and then was hard to cool down, there was no dish rack, and the foldout bed came with no instructions and was confusing to open. The TV antenna signal was poor, and the coax inputs weren’t selectable. The remote had no batteries, which might have helped with some of the TV problems. Nice room and good service. Check the location first so you know what to expect. Booking directly with the hotel may get you the best price.

The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and hideaway bed, plus a good stove and fridge. We were there for two weeks of sightseeing in NY, and being just a block from the main subway on the east side made getting around easy. The room was missing a spatula, so we picked up a few cooking tools when we arrived. The laundromat is about a block and a half away.

Can someone honestly tell me if this is a hotel? I tried calling, but the number hangs up. I’m leaving this review to ask about the place.
