The location in the heart of Midtown was ideal, with short walks to Central Park, Times Square, and Broadway. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner offerings on the 23rd Floor, both for the food spread and its quality. The fitness center was well equipped, and our room was quiet, with no street noise. At check-in we were upgraded to a very spacious suite, possibly bigger than many NYC apartments. The architecture felt boutique and lived up to the SLH brand, while the attentive, friendly staff made for a pleasant stay at WestHouse. They provided 2 water cans. A few drawbacks: the lighting was dim, there was no bathroom fan, and the Further bathroom products felt less luxurious than brands like Byredo or Le Labo would have. Since this was an award stay, I wasn't charged the resort fee. Still, I think the $55 fee would work better as tiers, perhaps $25 for amenities and $30 extra for food, given how many good food options there are in NYC.

The entrance is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a nice spread. But I came here to rest, and the room itself was a problem. Drain flies or sewer flies were crawling all over the shower in the first room. Staff were kind and moved me promptly, but the second room had flies too, and this time they got into the room. I asked again on my last night and they quickly moved me, with an apology. The third room had them as well. With a 5 am flight, I gave up and left quickly. For the price, I'd rather have a clean, solid room than the food and amenities.

The lobby looked lovely with its holiday decorations, and I especially enjoyed breakfast and the daily happy hours. The food changed each day, pasta one day and pizza the next, and the pasta was the most delicious I've ever had. The location was perfect, and I liked the view from my room. I liked the room overall, especially the bathroom, though there was some wear: the bed looked quite used and the sink was cracked. The hotel offers good value for the money, and I'd definitely consider staying again on my next New York trip.

I'd give this a 4.5 and round up. The bed was comfy, towels were clean, and I liked being able to open the windows at night for fresh air, well, as fresh as the city gets. Staff were lovely, and the location was close to anything you might need. Having complimentary breakfast and evening snacks or hors d'oeuvres was a nice option. I'd recommend it to anyone after a more elevated hotel stay without spending too much. The one real issue was the very dim lighting in both the bedroom and bathroom, which made doing my makeup difficult.

The location worked perfectly for everything we wanted to do, with Central Park and Times Square a short walk away and the subway just steps from the hotel for trips to Chinatown and Little Italy. We stayed at the WestHouse Hotel New York just after New Year’s, and it was perfect. The hotel was clean and beautiful, and The Terrace was a lovely amenity for breakfast, evening happy hour with a light dinner, and cappuccino whenever we wanted. All the staff were so nice and helpful. Highly recommend!
