We could barely sleep during our stay of just under a week around New Year’s, a little under two months ago. The upstairs neighbors were so loud we worried they might come through the floor, and they stayed up until about 5 in the morning. The walls felt hollow and cheaply built. The owner also came in at all hours, doing booking business in front of everyone and speaking loudly on the phone and to guests. I nearly stepped on screws left on the balcony. I told the owner how unacceptable and unprofessional the situation felt. He apologized and pleaded with us not to leave a bad review, but then refused a refund or any other help. My friend and I were very uncomfortable here. I don’t recommend it. You’d be better off at a motel or hotel in New York or a nearby city.

After booking two nights through booking.com about a month ahead, I arrived to be told the property was overbooked and I’d have to move somewhere else the next day. At that other property I couldn’t check in because someone was already staying there. I arrived late at night and had nowhere else to go. The place turned out to be the owner’s basement, split into three small rooms with poor ventilation. Mine smelled strange, the bathroom and shower area were dirty, and there was no hand wash. I’m still trying to get a refund through booking.com, but the owner isn’t giving them clear explanations. The other address was 276 Parkside Dr, Union, NJ. The owner was highly unprofessional.
