VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa

I'm here for a conference, and every service we've had, meals included, has been top notch. Scott and the guest services team pay close attention to the details and really go above and beyond to make the stay memorable. The VEA Newport Beach is immaculate, with superb amenities, quiet, clean rooms, and a great location. I can keep going about this place, but I'll definitely make a point of coming back. I'd highly recommend it in Newport Beach for work or pleasure.

A relaxed, comfortable stay with great service is what this hotel does well. If you're uptight and pretentious, it's probably not for you. My husband and I are staying here now, and we like the contemporary rooms, beautiful views, and especially how quiet they are. Housekeeping is friendly and efficient, and the whole team makes the place shine. Everyone from the front desk, pool and bar staff, restaurant hosts and servers to the valets has been wonderful. Special shout out to Alex, Jay, and Cookie. The gym is large for a hotel this size, the area has a lot to offer, and we'll be back.

The room was a bit smaller than I expected, but it worked for us. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, which were relaxing and had gorgeous views. It was so quiet you could hardly hear anything but birds singing. The restaurant food was very good, and the place has a classy, relaxing feel.

The bright spot was my massage. Amy was awesome and very nice. We came to the spa for the day to celebrate our first anniversary, but the pool service was disappointing. We checked in just before 11, were told someone would be at the pool for service at 11, and got there at 11:05 after changing. Our couples massage was at noon, and we were hungry. At 11:30 there was still no service, so my wife went back to the lobby to ask. A few minutes later, a man came over and took our drink order. We barely had time to enjoy the drinks before the massages. Afterward we returned to the pool and ordered drinks, chips, and guacamole. The drinks took about 30 minutes, and the server forgot the food. When I asked, he said he'd forgotten. By the time it arrived, we had to take it to go so we could get ready for dinner at Oceans 48. The spa was small, and the men's side had limited amenities. The steam room had mild and max settings, but max was too much and mild felt like nothing. This was our first time at Vea, and we weren't thrilled. I'm not sure we'll come back.
