Newport Channel Inn - Near Huntington State Beach

The room was really roomy, and the price was cheap. It was so close to the beach and came with a parking spot. The woman at the front desk was super nice too.

I booked through airbnb, but they canceled at the last minute without even leaving a message or trying to make things right. They just refunded me. By 8:00 pm there were no nearby last-minute options, so I had to pay twice as much for another hotel. This business isn't reliable. Avoid it if you can.

Newport Channel Inn was simple, clean, cozy, and had everything we needed without the kind of extras that come with a $500 price tag. The room, bed, and sheets were comfortable and well cared for, and the whole place smelled fresh. It's a short walk to the beach and close to restaurants and shops. The staff were especially kind and helpful when I had debit card problems. They were patient and made sure our stay went smoothly. Parking was easy too, which is a big deal in Newport Beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return or recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, friendly place near the ocean.

The beach is right across the street, and there's a park for kids behind the place. You can borrow beach towels and body boards, which is handy if you don't have them or don't want to pack them. Check-in and checkout were easy, and everyone I spoke with was friendly. For the price, it's hard to beat. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, and there was a microwave and fridge. The TV is small with only basic channels, and some things could use updating, but those were easy to overlook given everything else.
