Hampton Inn Newport News-Yorktown

The young woman at the desk was very helpful. It’s hard to find people willing to help these days. They’re pet friendly, and my room was in good shape with no bad odors. I’m not sure why people traveling with pets get more favor than those who don’t. I pay too, and shouldn’t have to pay extra for a room that hasn’t had pets in it. Pets don’t pay, but I do.

I was here for a work trip and thought it was a great hotel. The staff were all friendly, and the rooms were clean, well-equipped, and well maintained. Breakfast was great too. Rates were very fair compared with other places nearby, and there are all sorts of good restaurants close by.

Before we arrived, I had questions about our trip for a funeral, and Liz at the front desk gave me detailed, helpful answers so things could run as smoothly as possible. She helped me with digital check-in, told me about places to eat nearby, and made sure our requests were in the room when we arrived. The room and bathroom were extremely clean, not a hair anywhere. Common areas were spotless, and staff were friendly and attentive. There are several eateries and shops within walking distance. A hidden gem!

Liza at the front desk made sure my requests were met during my five nights here. My first room was on the busy traffic side, which I didn’t realize until the early hours, but she went out of her way to find me a room away from the street noise. She was always smiling and personable, and is a terrific asset to the Hilton team. The hotel is in a convenient area, with several fast-food places within walking distance and a Food Lion nearby with great prepared meals for $5. It’s close to the highway, so getting around is easy. The room was a good size, with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom, and good-sized TV with lots of channels. The gym is decent, and the indoor pool is a great size. Breakfast was different each morning and very filling. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for the price, and would stay again next time I’m in VA!
