Club Wyndham Inn on the Harbor

The harbor views are breathtaking, the place is clean, and the location is great. The service was top-notch, especially from Jarneya and Meeka. They were kind, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I can't say enough about the hotel or its staff. I'll be back for sure and will tell others to come too. Definitely five stars! 🌟 🤩 ⭐️ 🌠 💫

The staff were fantastic. We got there early and they let us into our room an hour and a half before check-in. Nobody tried to sell us anything, which was great. I was unsure about the place beforehand, but showing up changed my mind fast. Our room was spacious and very clean. There's a bar connected downstairs, and while we waited a little for the room to be cleaned, we sat there and had a drink. The location is A+++, right in the middle of everything. I'd absolutely come back, and plan to.

I loved the location and thought the price was excellent. Sean at reception was so welcoming and suggested some great local places to eat. The internet stopped working, which was a big problem with important work meetings coming up. It could've wrecked the vacation, but Sean listened, helped me out, and quickly connected me with management so they could fix it. I really appreciated his support. He saved my vacation!

We just wrapped up a one week stay through RCI. Newport was already our “happy place” because of the food, relaxing atmosphere, and attractions, but this was our first time at this resort. The position is ideal for walking to Thames shops and restaurants. Our unit 561 was comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling living room windows overlooking the harbor were spectacular. Sitting there to enjoy the view was wonderful, and being close to the rooftop was a nice feature. The service side could use more attention. Each morning, maintenance and housekeeping banged doors and had loud, animated hallway conversations, waking us up. The unit looked clean on the surface, but I dropped something behind the nightstand and found years' worth of dust, dirt, and hair. There was mold around the bathtub too, so the units seem due for periodic deep cleaning. Most things worked, although one window wouldn't open because it was broken, and the HVAC was VERY noisy. The layout was odd, with the door opening straight into the bedroom. Before we came, I called to ask about the partial kitchen because I planned to bring breakfast food. The woman on the phone said the refrigerators were “personal sized” and she wasn't sure about a freezer, so we left the food at home. That information was wrong: we had a full-size fridge and two burners, which were very nice. We also didn't know about the second-floor bar until reading reviews; nobody mentioned it. TV options were quite limited, which wasn't great on bad-weather days. Parking was TERRIBLE. The impractical double spaces could leave you blocked in, and there aren't enough spaces for all the units. On two nights we had to park at the sister resort across the street, a dark walk if you're alone. I'd seen reviewers say they paid for parking and got reimbursed, but nobody brought that option up at check-in. The timeshare pitch at check-in was too much. I had to say “no” ten times before they'd give us our keys. We enjoyed the stay and might return. Some staff training and attention to detail would make this place better.
