The personal touches made our late arrival feel easy. We got in around 10:30 pm Friday, and Wes had left a note on the front door with our name, entry code, and room directions. In the room there was another note with my last name, the lights were on, and early 19th century music was playing on the TV. He’d also been helpful on the phone before we booked, giving local recommendations and making sure our gluten free needs were considered. We were visiting in the off season during a blizzard, and Newport felt quiet, relaxed, and charming. The house is beautiful and within walking distance of Newport’s famous mansions. Since a room was available, Wes upgraded us to the VanAllen room at no charge. The owners are a family, and their two sons manage the place and cook. The hospitality felt thoughtful and personal throughout. My fiancée and I stayed for two nights in early February 2026, and it was an outstanding visit. We’ll be back, and I highly recommend The Ivy Lodge.

The Turret room was fabulous, with a comfortable king size four poster bed and a two person jacuzzi that felt wonderful. The house itself is beautiful, and Alex and Wes, the owner’s sons, were terrific. Wes showed us around and let us see some of the rooms, all of which looked beautiful. The mansions are within walking distance, and I’d highly recommend the property.

We’ve come back to The Ivy Lodge and will certainly do so again. It’s clean and beautifully maintained, right among the gilded age mansions. The rooms are comfortable, with supportive pillows and mini-splits you can control. Service is fantastic, and the breakfasts and snacks are delicious.

We’ve stayed more than once and would gladly return. The grounds are immaculate, the décor is elegant, and the historic mansions are right nearby. Staff go out of their way to help, and the breakfasts and treats are always a pleasure. Our room was roomy, quiet, and comfortable, with excellent amenities. The Ivy Lodge is truly exceptional.

The location made it easy to get around on foot: downtown Newport was nearby, The Breakers and other mansions were only a few minutes away, and The Elms was around the corner. We rented the Turret and Van Alen rooms, both spacious and cozy, with excellent beds and charming decor. The friendly, attentive staff provided a wonderful breakfast and snacks. Fantastic property and service, book your stay at The Ivy Lodge!
