The place has a cool feel, especially knowing it's about 254 years old. Our “Haunted Porter” room wasn't creepy, but the phones were glitchy in there for some reason. It was clean, nice, and quiet, even with music bumping in the tavern until around 2am.

The carnations for the mothers as we left were such a sweet touch. We’ve now had Mother’s Day brunch at the Temperance House four times, and it was magnificent each time. Food was excellent and service was great. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it as a five-star restaurant, tavern, and hotel.

Temperance House filled up fast on a lazy Sunday, and Jordan suddenly had a packed room to manage on her own. She kept track of food and drink orders, checked dishes at the window for accuracy, and got everything to the right place. Through it all, she stayed professional and connected with the people watching her deliver top-notch service. 10/10, I'd come back to be served by Jordan, or even just to watch her take care of everyone.

The period character of the Dining Room really stands out, with its two fireplaces and original charm. You can choose to sit in the Bar or Dining Room. Our Ribeye and Stuffed Pork Chop were both superb, and the portions were too large for us to finish. Dinner at this Colonial Inn was fabulous. The Dining Room is definitely a hidden gem.

Jordan was tending the bar by herself when a large group suddenly arrived about 15 minutes after my friend and I came in for drinks and apps. She jumped in, took care of everyone at the tables and bar, stayed focused, and kept smiling. The bar had been slow before that, and she'd greeted us promptly and paid attention to us. As a restaurant manager, I was really impressed. Kudos to Jordan!
