The front desk staff and Olivia at the restaurant were phenomenal, and I liked the pizza crust. That’s why I’m giving two stars. The hotel itself deserves half a star, if that. The pool water wasn’t heated, there was no hot tub, and there was goose poop all over the deck. The bathtub faucet spun all the way around. One night the shower was so hot I could barely stand under it, and the next it was almost cold; there was no way to adjust the water temperature. The entrance and elevator smelled like marijuana, which might appeal to some people. There are potholes in Niagara Falls, and it feels like nobody cares about the town. The hotel is a 10-minute drive from the falls, but the American side is a joke and makes the country look horrendous compared with Canada. Just go to Canada and enjoy what’s there, since the falls are the only reason worth coming to this city.

Denise coordinated our wedding at the Crowne Plaza, and she made the planning feel effortless. She was organized, professional, kind, and went above and beyond to get every detail right. The venue was beautiful, the staff were attentive, and Denise’s expertise helped the evening run smoothly. Tina, our waitress, was amazing too. Our guests kept complimenting the food and service and saying how seamless the whole evening felt. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks to Denise and the Crowne Plaza team for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. I’d highly recommend this venue for a wedding.

The rooms were tiny, and even by the sink there was nowhere to put a toothbrush or toothpaste. I could barely fit in the shower. Black grime between the shower floor tiles made me feel dirtier afterward than before I went in after a long day. The bathrooms weren’t as nice as a public bathroom at a state park, and the walls did nothing to block noise. I heard everything from next door, where the neighbors stayed loud until midnight. I was too tired to complain again and assumed the other rooms couldn’t be any better. The front desk quickly moved us to another room, but that one smelled like a wet rag. The pool water smelled and didn’t look clean, and both the water and the pool room were cold. The breakfast buffet was only good for the view; the food was below mediocre. I’ve been an IHG platinum elite member for over 10 years and have stayed at IHG hotels internationally, but this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, even worse quality than a 2-star Holiday Inn in the country.

My sister and I went to a wedding at this hotel, and the view from our room was breathtaking. The room was super clean, and the front desk agent on the swing shift was kind and very helpful. The wedding servers were attentive to everyone, especially Alex, Katrina, and Tina, who gave us great service. I also loved having plug-ins and USB ports all over the room. Thanks to everyone for making our stay memorable. The hotel was AWESOME and the service was GREAT.

I’m an IHG member and stayed on 10/25, supposedly for an upgrade from HIE. The room was extremely small, the mattress felt like it came secondhand from a local prison, and the food was horrible. We saw lots of dogs staying there. The outlet needs replacing: the hair dryer plug kept falling out. There was no soap, which should have been checked before arrival. I’d have to give less than one star if I could. The entire hotel needs upgrades, and we cut our vacation short just to get out. The toilet clogged, and I had to call twice before it was cleared. I was given instructions on how to flush it and asked for another room, but was told moving us wouldn’t fix the problem. Later the lobby restroom clogged too, and as we left we saw maids cleaning up an overflowing toilet. After the clog in our room was dealt with, there were still drippings on the elevator floor. The instructions for flushing were to pee and flush, finish, flush again, then wipe and flush. I’m concerned this could create health issues. It was hard to find the front clerk; she was usually coming from the kitchen with food. I went to the desk to tell the clerk we were leaving, but she wasn’t there. I spent 30000 points for one night, which felt worth maybe 200 points just to sleep. I’ll tell other people about this so they don’t waste family time. This felt more like a pay-per-hour hotel than a place for a family vacation. I’ll contact the Crown franchise and the city of Niagara Falls to ask when the building was last inspected and whether it was approved for occupancy. How anyone gives this hotel more than one star is mind-bending; maybe hotel friends are writing the ratings. Beware, and read the reviews. The complaints seem consistent with those from other very dissatisfied customers.
