Quality Inn - Niagara Falls Blvd

The pool was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. The hall carpets were dirty, there was trash here and there, and the whole place seemed neglected. Our room had several visible ceiling leaks, worn furniture, and a stained headboard. The air conditioner barely worked, so it was hot and uncomfortable all night. There was no staff available to help, and the smell in the room was unbearable even after we tried airing it out. I expected basic standards from Quality Inn, especially with its steady stream of guests and decent reputation. Instead, the room and common areas were below an acceptable level of cleanliness and maintenance. I can't understand how a hotel that seems to do so well lets things get this bad. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The good and bad about this place pretty much balanced each other out, so I'm giving it a 3. Check-in went smoothly, and the team was helpful and accommodating. Frank was especially helpful. The rooms were big, fairly clean, and quiet, and there was a shared microwave. The bathrooms were spacious and clean too. With a bit more effort from the hotel, it could be a great place. The location was good, though the free local NFTA Niagara Falls trolley that was supposed to stop across from the hotel changed lanes and turned left onto 77th Street instead. The two of us were waving it down, and the bus was empty. Maybe the driver had some kind of aversion to picking us up. I arrived early and used the restroom, where the unflushed, dirty toilets made a lasting first impression. The coffee maker didn't work, and nobody tried to replace it when I contacted them. There was an iron, but no ironing board, so I don't know whether the iron worked.

I've stayed here a few times before, but this latest visit was a nightmare and the most unacceptable hotel experience I've had. The receptionist was rude as soon as we arrived and acted like we were bothering them when we asked for help. There was no apology, empathy, effort to accommodate us, or solution offered. The room was in appalling shape. The bathroom was disgusting, with stains and clear signs it hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained. It looked untouched before we checked in, and I have videos showing the condition we were given. For a hotel that says it cares about guest comfort, this was unsanitary and completely unacceptable.

We checked in, saw the room, and walked straight back out. We only wanted a clean, quiet room for one night. The floors were filthy with dirt and hair, there was hair in the bed and the sheets didn't look clean, and there was poop all over the toilet. It was disgusting. I should've read the reviews first. The woman at the front desk was very accommodating and offered to reclean the whole room, which we appreciated. In the end, though, we chose to lose the money and stay somewhere else. I just couldn't get past what we found when we first walked in.
