Swan Song Inn

The Swan Song Suite and Lake View Suite both had lovely views, lots of room, and were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We came for a cold weekend, but our private sunroom stayed warm, and sunrise and sunset were spectacular. Between the swans, ducks, chickens, deer, and other wildlife, it almost felt like being in a Disney movie. There were gas fire pits outside, a fireplace in the room, a huge Jacuzzi tub, and beds that felt like heaven. The rooms were quiet, and you could make them as dark or bright as you liked. We went antique shopping, and Cheri gave us a map and tips on where to look for the treasures we had in mind. She also cooked breakfasts with such care and skill that, with my culinary background, I was blown away. She calls herself a cook, not a chef. Doug and Cheri were warm, genuine hosts who respected our privacy and responded quickly whenever we needed something. Cheri also knows a lot about just about everything. The owners have thought of everything, and I can't suggest a thing that would improve it. I usually find B&Bs stuffy, overly fussy, or stale, and we don't generally choose them, even though we travel quite a bit. This inn changed my mind, and I'd recommend it without hesitation if you want somewhere peaceful to unwind. After our first night, I called my son and daughter-in-law, who live an hour away, and told them they had to come right then. They did, and loved it as much as we did. The inn was beautiful in winter, and I can only imagine how nice it is in the other seasons. I think we'll have to come back each season and see for ourselves.

The lake view made for such a picturesque, calming setting, and the spacious suites felt like a home tucked inside another home. Doug and Cheri welcomed us warmly and seemed eager to make our stay comfortable, while still giving us room to ourselves. They had thought of everything a tired traveler could want. Breakfast was over the top, and the thoughtful touches were everywhere, from the take-home swan accent pin to the sparkly room key chains. It was relaxing, quiet, elegant, hospitable, and accommodating, and well worth the price. Of all the places we've stayed in the past few years, this was easily the best. Once people hear about the Swan Song Inn, I'm sure it'll be picked for lots of special occasions.

The food was wonderful, the hospitality was second to none, and every little detail seemed to get their attention. They were kind and genuine throughout. Swan Song Inn is beautiful, and for the price it was an absolute stunner. At a hotel charging a similar amount, I wouldn't have gotten half the service, luxury, or atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to staying there again.

Breakfast alone was worth the price of admission, according to my husband, Kurt. Our suite was breathtaking, with a shower and Jacuzzi tub, a huge cloud-soft bed that hugged me to sleep, and our own attached living room and dining area. Cheri was lovely and took time to show me around and introduce me to the permanent residents, the chickens, ducks, geese, and two majestic swans. The place was beautiful and relaxing, and it felt like home. Looking forward to coming back soon.
