Hampton Inn & Suites Norfolk-Airport

This is really about the service more than the hotel. Ambritt and Ashia were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond. Ambritt kindly suggested dinner, shopping, and excursions, and Ashia handled my requests with a smile. Both represented the brand so well.

I was on the go and had a great stay. Reggie, the maintenance Manager, gave great customer service. The location was convenient, and breakfast was surprisingly tasty, with waffles, an omelette, fresh fruit, and boiled eggs.

My husband and I arrived from the airport at about 9:45am for a funeral at 2:00pm. We were told no rooms were available for early check-in. I understand that early arrival depends on availability, but the hotel looked largely unoccupied, and the front desk staff member didn't seem willing to help. I explained why we needed to get ready, but there was no flexibility or compassion. Customer service gave us the same answer. After waiting for hours, we had to leave to eat and find somewhere to change and prepare. When we returned, a room had suddenly become available. I had booked a king room but was given two queen beds. We were too exhausted to press the issue by then. This was already a stressful time, and the lack of empathy made it worse. A little understanding or effort would have meant a lot. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and compassion for future guests. I stayed at your Norfolk Virginia property on 11/8/25, and the experience was far from what I expected.

Carol deserves a shout out for her five-star service. She's friendly, helpful, and makes people feel at home. I also heard her give that same quality of service over the phone to a potential customer.
