The room was nice, at least. But on January 7, 2026, the front desk employee I dealt with had a nasty attitude and came across as flippant and discourteous. She was on her phone and spoke to customers in a way I found unprofessional. I don't like businesses putting people like that at the front desk to greet new guests. She should probably be cleaning rooms or working in housekeeping instead.

Poor communication and surprise charges made this a frustrating stay. The room they gave me wasn't the one I'd reserved, and the staff made the problem worse instead of fixing it. I had also booked for the following day, but they charged me another $50 because I checked in before 3 p.m., even though we were already in the room. They also required an extra deposit and charged a pet fee. None of those additional costs had been clearly disclosed beforehand. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

I used to love staying here when I was in town, and the breakfast was decent and hot. But on 11/09/25, my daughter and I had a terrifying experience. At about 10:55 p.m. Saturday, she woke me because someone was at our door. Thank goodness I had the latch on. When I cracked it open, a white man with long hair, a blue shirt, and a red and white patch on his chest tried to force his way in to hurt us. Norfolk police dispatch was a joke and put my daughter on hold. The man ran off. I called the front desk, and all they did was move us to another room. The worker on duty and maintenance were nice, but the manager has refused to help with the cameras or find the man. It's been two days and I've heard nothing from the manager. I'll never stay again. Please be careful and armed if you do.

There was mold on the ceiling, and more in the bathroom caulking. I didn't notice it until bedtime, and we were stuck because my husband is disabled and there weren't other options available. I should have asked for an immediate refund. The TV was awful, and it wasn't a smart TV. One staff member had body odor. I booked another room for a family member while we were there, and it was overpriced. I felt gouged by the required $50 deposit for each room, whether booked through Orbitz or directly. We spent a lot of money and were very disappointed. I've seen similar or worse problems at other places in your network. Shame on you for letting an independent operator or owner fail to maintain the property and damage trust in your brand. We'll never stay at this location again.
