SpringHill Suites by Marriott Norfolk Virginia Beach

The rooms and breakfast were fine and matched what I expected. The problem was the ongoing construction, which wasn't disclosed on the website or app. They also shut off the water main for seven hours today and only told guests the day before. There was no water or use of the bathrooms during that time. It felt like they cared more about continuing to take bookings than being upfront about what guests would face. I would've booked somewhere else if they'd been transparent, and I'd suggest staying elsewhere for a much better visit.

I paid extra because I expected this location to be as good as the others, but I was wrong. I won't stay here again, and they didn't even recognize me as a Marriott rewards member like other locations do. There were problems throughout: the room was extremely hot and took hours to cool down, the shower body wash container was empty, and the toilet leaked. The TV was tiny for a suite, and the bed was hard. Breakfast was a poor selection of eggs, mystery meat pieces, and grits. There was no Splenda or cream for the coffee.

The people here are the reason I'll book again. Antonette in the breakfast area gave me the best customer service I've ever had. The breakfast was delicious, the area was clean and well stocked, and she went above and beyond. Tiffany and Carmen at the front desk were also a delight to talk with and made check-in and checkout easy. Thank you all. ❤️💪🏽 We had a wonderful stay, with a clean room and a comfortable bed. Excellent service all around.

Great location, but the stay was awful. The website got stuck and wouldn't work when I arrived, so check-in took too long. The elevator kept malfunctioning, and I ended up taking the stairs. Then I got to the room and found the beds were horrible and broken. They also hadn't told me about the renovations before I paid and checked in. I won't be back.
