Super 8 by Wyndham Normal Bloomington

The people running the hotel were kind, and the location was good with plenty of other businesses nearby. The bus stop was a bit far to reach with my 3 heavy bags. My main problem was the food. The "breakfast" was a plastic bag with a small can of pineapple juice and a hard, not tasty Nature valley granola bar, the kind that reminds me of horse feed. They had a nice breakfast room, but no real breakfast, and it became a big problem for me. I had eaten very little for 3 days after being treated negatively in Bloomington Normal. A church sent me food, but there wasn't a microwave in my room, even though there was a fridge. There was supposed to be one on top of it, but there wasn't. The hotel did let me use the microwave in the breakfast room. I always ask to be away from smoking because it makes me very sick. Their non-smoking floor was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, and I was exhausted with 3 heavy bags, so I couldn't get there. I was stuck on a smoking floor. There were a lot of drawbacks, but the kind staff and good location were two pluses.

People were roaming the parking lot on drugs, and the location felt very sketchy. There were bugs in the rooms, and the non-smoking rooms reeked of smoke. The front desk attendant was rude about my company card, which they made extremely difficult to use. The room price was listed as 75, and the two people ahead of me paid that, but when I got to the desk I was charged 165$. It wasn't worth the money. Definitely stay somewhere else.

It smelled bad, and there were stains all over, on the walls and beds. There was food and boogers left on the walls. The microwave was rusty, and yellow stuff was on the bottom of the fridge. The staff weren't great. My friend broke out in hives after being in the hotel for 10 minutes, apparently from strong cleaning supplies, though we didn't know where they came from since the place was absolutely nasty.

Even though it's a non-smoking facility, the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. I'm home now and just put my C-Pap on for bed, and it smells like smoke from last night. Gross!
