The housekeeping staff were sweet, and that was the only part I liked. From check-in through checkout, the experience was disappointing. The front desk staff seemed too busy on their phones to explain things guests need to know, like the shuttle, breakfast, amenities, or WiFi. I was also surprised by Manager Rakesh’s attitude, which came across like he didn’t care. Guest service is a pillar of hospitality, and they really need to improve it.

That $4 bus to 8th Avenue and 42nd Street made getting around really convenient, so this was a good budget-friendly choice. Our room was clean, and check-in was easy. Staff were polite and answered our WiFi questions, including that it isn’t free for non-members. When we had a question about the keys, one staff member came all the way from the lobby to the second building, bundled up against the cold. He helped us courteously and without complaint while we were freezing outside. We’re grateful, and would gladly stay again. 10/10. Thank you!

The parking area is bigger than it looks from outside, and parking didn’t seem to be a problem. Starbuck and Aldi are just a five-minute walk away, which was convenient. We had a little staycation here and found the staff friendly and attentive. The room was simple, as expected, but clean, with plenty of light, lots of drawers, and decent space to walk around. The bed, carpet, and bathroom were clean too. The bathroom was basic but comfortable, and the big tub worked nicely with the curved curtain rod. The shower pressure was good. DoorDash even brought food straight to my room, lol, which was fun. They do have room service as well.

I had to cancel my New York trip after a close family member had a heart attack and then a brain hemorrhage following intensive anticoagulant treatment. It was a serious, unavoidable medical emergency, and I sent the hotel documentation and an explanation. I never used the reservation, but they refused any refund, even a partial one. My emails went unanswered, and Agoda rejected my request too. I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of empathy or flexibility in these circumstances. Based on this experience, I’d tell people to be cautious when booking and consider how the hotel handles serious situations. The worst hotel experience I’ve had: unprofessional, insensitive, inhumane, discriminatory, and without basic human decency. Absolutely stay away. Do not book this hotel.
