Both suites I stayed in were clean, comfortable, and genuinely pleasant. The night desk worker, though, really soured the visit. When I arrived from out of state around 11:30 p.m. on Jan 15th, I waited more than five minutes and called out hello a couple of times before anyone appeared. My husband was waiting in the loading zone, and a dark red Honda pulled in and honked at him to move. We were on the phone, and it turned out the driver was the front desk worker trying to park there. She parked in that spot every night of my stay, blocking access to the accessible parking spaces. When she came inside, she was talking loudly on her phone, didn’t greet me, and only asked for my name. On the occasions I saw her, she was loudly video calling people at a table. As someone who used to supervise a front desk, I found the whole thing unprofessional.

I stayed here for work from September through the end of January, and the staff made it a good experience. Alize kept breakfast hot, fresh, and plentiful, while Suzanne and Sharonda cleared my balance each week without hesitation and offered restaurant suggestions. They were all friendly and accommodating. Karen led the team that kept my room fresh, and Nick was helpful too.

The location is close to the highway, but the traffic noise wasn’t too bad. My stay was really pleasant, and Ms.Shalonda, the front desk manager, helped sort out a few issues and answered all my questions. Thanks!

Breakfast was sloppy and disappointing, and loud doors kept slamming in the hallway all evening, so I couldn’t get a comfortable night’s sleep. The room was filthy, with stains everywhere. I brought it to the front desk, but nothing was done. I was there for one night, got up, and hit the road. Never again.

The room itself was a mess: nails on the floor, stained carpet and walls, an AC that wasn’t very cold, and a mildew smell. The heavy sliding bathroom door was hard to open and close, and the room phone didn’t work, so there was no way to call reception. The hallway and elevator carpets were stained and smelled bad, and the whole place felt hot. We also found the area concerning. The sign outside warned guests to park at their own risk, and the gym was right by the entrance, where two girls were dancing provocatively in outfits that felt unpleasant for us and our kids to see. At check-in, we were told to pay a $300 deposit, $50 per day, that would eventually be returned. We wanted to cancel and move to the nicer Summerville location, but worried a refund would take too long, so we stayed. After speaking with the housekeeping manager about the problems, we decided to leave early and ask for the remaining days back. The new manager, Nicholas, was sarcastic and rude, and charged us for the weekend we didn’t stay. He refused to refund it despite the problems, and we hadn’t even stayed the two days. The receptionist on the afternoon shift was rude too, and I heard her speaking rudely to a customer on the phone. There was also a woman upstairs waiting for the right key Nicholas was supposed to bring her, while he was busy talking to girls.
