Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in North East (Erie) by IHG

The staff were super nice, and breakfast was good. Our bed was very comfortable, the A/C worked well, and I appreciated the soaps provided. We didn't use either pool because it was a bit crowded, though everyone seemed to be having a good time. The room was clean, but the worn furniture, dingy floors, and peeling wallpaper showed it needed an update. We avoided the chair because it looked like a million people had sat in it. I saw on the website that renovations were planned for the coming weeks, so they seem aware. There was also a mix-up where the website made two reservations for me; it took a few days, but the money was refunded to my card.

We had a fantastic stay for my 6 year olds birthday, and both he and our 1.5 year old had a blast. The little one loved the small fish slide. Breakfast was hot, good, and well stocked despite a busy room, and the staff kept everything organized and clean for each guest. The location was lovely, about 20 min from downtown, which made for a fun day exploring the beaches in the snow. The only real concern I had as a parent was the shower temperature. It wouldn't stay warm, so we'd turn it up, get a few minutes of comfortable water, and then it would get scalding hot. Aside from that, our room was great and very clean. We can't wait to come back!

We were glad we stayed just outside Erie after reading some pretty sketchy hotel reviews there. The room was roomy and VERY clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast had lots of good options, including the magic pancake machine I now want for my house. The dining area was spacious, clean, and looked well cared for. Parking felt safe and was easy, and getting to the highway was convenient. We skipped the pool, though it looked like kids would have a lot of fun there. We'd definitely come back.

My son kept going down the blue slide at the mini water park, which was incredible. The beds were so comfortable he fell asleep within seconds of getting on one. Service was great, and breakfast was great too. Absolutely amazing hotel!
