Quality Inn & Suites I-40 East

This is a great little budget hotel in the Little Rock area. The room was clean and cooled well, and breakfast included mini waffles and scrambled eggs. There are abandoned properties nearby, so the area looks a little sketchy, but we didn’t feel unsafe and had no issues.

It’s quiet and easy to find off the freeway, and check-in was quick with a pleasant receptionist. The building was rundown, though, and my room wasn’t the cleanest. It had an odd smell, and the jacuzzi bathtub looked very yellow.

The room had roaches and smelled like sweaty testicles. The mattress was super old and uncomfortable, and the first night there was a lot of noise from people in the hallway. Breakfast was inconsistent: we got eggs the first morning, but no meat, and there was no nonstick spray for the waffle maker. The second morning there were no eggs or meat. The front desk clerks didn’t speak to us. One was lying on the lobby couch without shoes and playing on his phone. Beer cans were left in the hallway and on the ice maker for two days, and the outside public trash can overflowed for two days. I had to keep getting my key card reactivated. The website said there was a Waffle House adjacent to the hotel, but there wasn’t. There was a large clump of hair in the shower, what looked like several pubic hairs on the shampoo, and lots of visible stains on the bed linen. The heater and mini fridge worked well.

This location didn’t meet the usual breakfast standard at the Quality Inns where we eat. There were only a few scrambled eggs, no meat or biscuits and gravy, the coffee maker needed refilling, and the bread was a little stale.
