Comfort Inn N Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing

The location was great, right among lots of restaurants, and the pool and breakfast area were pluses. The bed was clean, too. But after we got upstairs, there was a strange wet-dog smell, and it got stronger in our room. My husband put car air fresheners inside the AC unit, which helped a lot. It was dark when we arrived, so we only noticed the gap in the door the next morning, with the hallway carpet visible from outside. The bathroom ceiling had cracks and mold. We’d driven seven hours, so we had to make do. Customer service was awful, and there wasn’t a manager to speak with.

My stay from 5-30-26 until 6-6-26 was great too. Yanika and the rest of the staff were very nice, and it’s always a pleasure to stay here. On my earlier weeklong visit, Crystal and the other staff were friendly and courteous as well. Breakfast was on point, and the employee in the breakfast area did a perfect job keeping everything stocked and clean. This will be my new spot when I visit N. Myrtle Beach.

Comfort Inn has really gone downhill, and I won’t stay there again. In two of the three rooms we tried, there was rust in the bathtub; the third smelled like urine. The TV was ancient, with barely any channels and no streaming. At 9:30, when we went to breakfast, the front desk lady locked us out even though checkout wasn’t until 11. She said all hotels do that on checkout day. I told her that was a lie and ridiculous. I’ve stayed in at least 200 hotels and never been locked out of my room.

The location is great for the area, and I’d stay again. One of our two rooms had a really bad smell at first, but the staff were accommodating and moved us to another room. The staff were good.
