The owner credited just $15 back to my card, and gave us no help when we reported that the Wi-Fi wasn't working. After a few hours, I figured out on my own that all the Wi-Fi information had changed. It seems the owner either doesn't visit the property or doesn't care. The TVs were old and incompatible with HTC upgrades, so none worked. We had four nights and five days with the kids, who were extremely bored without them. The place has potential, and it was clean, but it badly needs attention. Of our four bedrooms, only three had TVs anyway. The dinner table chairs had dangerously loose screws, which worried me because my elderly mom was there. The refrigerator wasn't cooling, so we had to freeze food to keep it from spoiling. I sent photos of several other problems too. The unit needs immediate repairs and upgrades. One out of five. Vacation fail.

Renters aren't welcome here if they don't own a condo. The resort is for owners who don't want renters around. They say renters raise insurance costs because they're a liability, make a mess, and leave. If you're renting, go to a beach hotel that caters to renters.

I love Barefoot Edgewater. Some close friends of mine live there, and it's always quiet and clean.

The listing is wrong: this isn't a holiday rental. It's a high-end, gated condo complex with primary residences and second homes, and rentals are allowed by the month only.
