For our annual Mother’s Day beach trip, I booked an oceanfront unit at Mar Vista Grande through Marriott Homes & Villas for six women in my family. We had a small hassle getting into the parking deck because the emailed information had the wrong code, but I called and the team quickly gave me the correct one. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was good, and every room had a nice sized LG TV. The six of us had enough beds and bathrooms, with a bathroom in each bedroom. The oven and stove, fridge, and dishwasher all worked. The interior hallways, exterior, and pool areas were clean and well maintained, parking was ample, Wi-Fi stayed connected, and security seemed well considered. It’s a great condo and the location worked well. A few things could use attention. Both the dining area and balcony only had seats for four, though the condo can comfortably hold ten. Some furniture needs updating, including taller toilets and dresser drawers that pull out properly. The owners should also check there are enough plates, cups, and utensils. I’m wary of carpet because it can hold pet smells even after shampooing. I could smell that here, though it wasn’t overwhelming and nobody else in my family mentioned it. I’d suggest replacing it with luxury vinyl plank. I’d consider coming back for another short stay, around four days and three nights.
