We stayed in Unit #301 from 7/19 - 7/26 as a family of four. The best part is stepping out onto the deck and being right above the sand and crashing waves. That beach location alone made the price feel worth it. There was plenty of room for all of us, two floors with a bathroom on each, and the in-suite laundry was a big help for a weeklong stay. Be aware that it’s on the 3rd / 4th floor with no elevator, so it’s not a good choice if stairs are a problem. The narrow spiral staircase is a lot. The downstairs neighbor complained to the Rental Management Company about noise and stomping. We’re not loud, don’t walk heavily, and didn’t turn up the music, but the lack of carpet on the 3rd floor and the heavy dining table and chairs seemed to make noise carry. After that, we felt like we had to tiptoe. The unit needs updating. Some light fixtures were falling apart, switches didn’t work, and the 3rd floor bathroom GFCI kept tripping. The beds weren’t very comfortable, the 3rd floor living room TV only worked with the Firestick we brought, and the fridge ice machine wasn’t working properly. Maintenance was responsive and fixed what they could, though most of this needs attention while the unit is vacant. I wouldn’t recommend it if you plan to spend much time inside. If you want an affordable place right on the beach and mostly need somewhere to sleep, it could be worth considering.

The view is beautiful, and it’s easy to get to the beach. We stayed in Unit 309, which was nice overall, though it needs some maintenance. The narrow spiral staircase may not work for older guests or anyone with a disability. The pillows were lousy. Downstairs, the toilet needs upgrading since it takes 2-3 flushes to clear toilet paper, and one bathroom light doesn’t work. The range’s bottom drawer is damaged, and the porch swing is broken. We also had to get batteries for the TV remote ourselves. It’s a small thing, but still.

We’ve been coming here for over 20 years, and the location is really good. It’s always been a pleasure to stay, but the place is showing its age. Our room didn’t look very clean, the dishwasher doesn’t clean properly, and now that we’re older, the stairs to the third floor are too much. I wish they did more maintenance to keep things looking fresh. The extra charge for sheets and towels was an unfortunate surprise too.

We’ve been coming for years and still love the place, especially the beachfront location. It’s good value, and the clean pool out front is nice. The unit could use better cleaning, though: it often needs tidying when we arrive, touch surfaces like doors and handles are filthy, and the floors never seem to get mopped. The cleaning staff’s work is mediocre. The furniture feels old and damp, and the couch, chair, and mattresses could use replacing. I also dislike the spiral stairs to the upstairs bedroom. Even so, we plan to keep coming back.

A nice little getaway, though this place makes me appreciate the Outer Banks even more. The beach is too crowded for me, with way too many people. We’re staying in an old motel that’s been converted into condos, listed as Air B&B.
