The top-floor location and view are the reasons to like unit 12D PH. The condition inside was a reason to skip it. Our bare feet turned black from floors that hadn’t been swept or washed, and the doors and switches were grimy. There was black mold on the master bath door. The entrance door was filthy and rusty compared with the other 12th-floor doors. The sofa and chairs were stained, worn down, and smelled so bad we covered them with spare sheets before sitting. Upkeep was minimal: burned out bulbs, missing dresser handles, and single 60 watt bulbs in three-way bedside lamps, which made reading in bed a no-go. Towels and washcloths were thin and worn, with no hand towels or kitchen towels provided. The sheets were extremely thin and worn too. We had to make and strip the beds ourselves, with multiple signs and texts threatening extra cleaning charges even though we’d prepaid a cleaning fee. The ill-fitting King sheets wouldn’t stay over the mattress pad, which seemed to be there to hide a sagging mattress. One twin mattress had so many lumps that its guest had to make up the other bed to sleep.

We’ve stayed in the same condo, 11 C, four years in a row and have loved it. If we can afford it, we’ll be back in 2026. Sunrise Pointe has a pool on each side of the boardwalk to the beach, so that’s two pools. There’s plenty of room for eight. It has three bedrooms and two sleeper couches. One room has a bunk bed, single on top and double below, plus a separate single bed and ensuite bath. Across the hall there’s a queen bedroom with a bathroom. The master has a king bed, an ensuite with a jet tub, and its own sliding doors to the seating area. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors run across the front. The dining table seats six, with four barstools, and the kitchen is well appointed. The balcony is big enough for a table for five and two seating areas. We ate breakfast out there every morning, my mama likes to relax with her book there, and we play games most nights. Can’t say enough about Sunrise Pointe. There was mold in the master bathroom and the living room furniture needs cleaning. The towel bar in our bathroom was broken, and the sliding glass door in the master bedroom didn’t work. When we opened the condo, it smelled strongly of cigarettes.

The rooms were clean and beautiful, but there was nothing else, not even a phone. Bring all your own supplies, like trash bags, dish detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels. They provide nothing. The complex and parking garage were confusing, and of the two elevators, the one at our end was out of order. Won’t be back!
