The room was very clean, and so were the building and the surrounding lot. We had a great week and loved the views from our fourth-floor balcony. Most of the things we wanted to do were within a 30-minute drive.

Some details fell short, but after we talked with the Management Company, they made things right. Quality comes down to those details.

The view is the only reason I’m giving Xanadu 2 unit 602 two stars. We rented through Elliot Realty, expecting at least a decent place, but had to do a serious clean before we felt comfortable. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere, and we had to sweep up what the previous guest had left on the floors. The bathrooms needed cleaning too, even with a $160 maid departure fee included in the cost. The living room furniture was badly stained, and the mattresses were so thin we might as well have slept on the floor. This unit needs a deep clean and serious updates. I would not recommend it if you want to be comfortable.

We paid over $3,000 for a week in June in Xanadu II #703, a two-bedroom unit managed by Elliott, which we’d reserved back in September. The guest book had comments from 2007 asking for updates, so clearly the owner hasn’t taken care of the place, and I guess the management company hasn’t either. We reported problems last year and got nowhere. We won’t rent from Elliott again. The unit was in terrible shape: dirty or stained carpet with large wrinkles and rolls, broken furniture and a broken kitchen countertop, stained curtains, mold, frayed and torn comforters, peeling ceiling, old furnishings, and uncomfortable furniture and mattresses. There were only four teaspoons in the kitchen.

The location is good and close to everything, but Unit #703 is one to avoid if you want a decent stay. I’ve stayed in this building three times: the first unit was great, the second okay, and the latest one was pitiful. I paid $3500.00 for the first week of July, and this condo looked like nothing had been replaced, repaired, or updated in 40 years. The patio doors were extremely hard to slide, and the living room windows were fogged, so there was no view. The living room furniture and wrinkled carpet were filthy and worn out. I had to repair the icemaker. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were old and worn, the bathroom linoleum was torn, and several lights were burned out. The master bath fiberglass sinks were cracked with age. A towel was wrapped around a leaking pipe in the laundry room, the curtains were falling off their rods, and the undersides of the kitchen cabinets were filthy. Only two of the three TVs were connected to cable.
