Ramada North Platte

Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we've had. The menu changed daily and was posted on a cute board, with fresh, well-prepared food and a good range of choices. The eggs were fluffy, the corned beef hash was nicely seasoned, and I liked the yogurt and oatmeal bar. There was also a great selection of coffee and tea, including a machine for lattes and cappuccinos. Staff were friendly and chatted with guests while checking on their meals, and the whole area was clean, with no torn chairs or scratched tables. The pool and gym were open all day and night, and both were modern and clean. There were several pet relief spots, plus a snack area with reasonably priced late-night food like cup noodles, microwave meals, chips, and cookies. We paid about $130 with the pet fee after arriving around 9 p.m. following a long drive, and they were happy to help us get a room at that reasonable rate. It was spacious, clean, bright, and modern, with responsive heat, a clean, well-stocked bathroom, a fridge, a microwave, and plenty of space to get ready. The linens were clearly fresh and smelled great, there were four pillows on each bed, the water pressure was good, and the tap water tasted good. This stay turned us into Best Western loyalists.

The staff were fantastic and made us feel welcome, which is why I'm giving the stay five stars. The bathroom in our room was a little rough and looked somewhat dirty, with rusty patches that need attention. We were also looking forward to swimming, but the pool was closed, so we went to the Days Inn to get some pool time. The building could use maintenance in the bathrooms and a working pool to feel 'Plus' quality.

The breakfast was a real surprise: it was fresh, hot, and actually edible, and the coffee was the best I've had at a hotel. We usually have to stop elsewhere for breakfast, so that made us very happy. We arrived late for a short overnight stay and they kindly upgraded our room. It was quiet and clean, and we'd absolutely stay again.

They were very helpful when I realized I'd booked for the wrong day and asked to move the reservation to that night. My room was non-refundable, and maybe they agreed because I'd actually overpaid for a Thursday, but I appreciated the help. The room was quiet and everything worked, with a spacious, clean bathroom and a king and queen bed in the superior room. The beds were much plusher and more comfortable than I usually find at Best Western. Staff were polite and helpful, including the morning crew. Breakfast smelled incredible, though I don't eat it; my husband was drooling as we left and did have some orange juice. The location just off the highway was convenient, and there was plenty of parking even though we arrived late. I'd highly recommend staying and would come back.
