Redington Surf Resort

We'd just checked in at a place two buildings away and didn't want to travel farther, so we walked over to Mangos, the resort's restaurant and cafe. It was close to closing and nearly empty. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, and the food turned out fresh, tasty, and surprisingly good. I wouldn't call it the greatest, but it was definitely passable. My grilled salmon salad was very good, as was my partner's grilled grouper. I'd come back if I'm in the area.

The only real plus was being on the beach. The apartment we had, apartment 11, was dingy, musty, smelly, badly outdated, and nowhere near worth what we paid. I wouldn't say it was worth even half the price. Management was incompetent and charged our card $175 US for some dam maintenance fee without even telling us. There's no daily maid service, and if you don't take the garbage out, you're charged, so what is that fee for? One morning they shocked the pool, leaving it unavailable for almost the entire day. Horrible place. Spend your money somewhere better.

The beach was just 25 feet from my front door, and our oceanfront one-bedroom suite was huge and really comfortable. I peeked inside a studio, and the difference was night and day. The extra money for the one-bedroom is well worth it. It's a great place for families too.

For the price, this was great. We got into our room early, and there are lots of places to eat or get a drink within walking distance. The beach is right there. My only complaint was the shower in our room: it's tiny, and the showerhead could use a major improvement.
