Knights Inn North Richland Hills

My friend booked online at a fixed price, then we found out there's a $20 charge for each day we stay, apparently tied to signing in. That wasn't disclosed. Is that fair? The room was dirty and the service wasn't good either. I wouldn't recommend it.

The room seemed fine at first, then we found bodily fluids crusted on the beds, strange stains on the bedding, cockroaches, and mouse droppings in the drawers. I photographed roaches at least twice and killed others. There was also a burnt-plastic smell. We paid for two nights but stayed only one, spending the second night with a friend's family. They refused a refund when we returned the card, even though the room was awful. I booked through Expedia, where the listing made the place look better than it was. It makes me wonder if some reviews are fake. I wouldn't recommend staying here and won't come back.

It's a budget place that may suit someone watching costs. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were tiny, like kids' pillows, and not comfortable. My non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke, though I don't blame the hotel for people smoking in those rooms. Downstairs the water pressure could knock your head off.

After booking two nights at $42 each, I asked before checkout on the third morning if I could extend through the booking app. They said no. So I paid $70 cash to avoid moving everything out right then. The next morning I tried to pay extra again so I wouldn't have to pack up and leave, but was told there were no rooms. I spent hours looking for somewhere else with my truck full of belongings and couldn't even get to work. By 7 or 8 pm, the listings showed plenty of rooms at $45 a night, including the same room I'd been in. I also think someone may have broken into my truck, or possibly taken it for a while, because I was much lower on gas than expected after putting $70 worth in. People were creeping around there all night.
