The humidity problem was real, not just the rain. My first room felt like a bathroom right after a shower, with heavy moisture on the windows. I kept it for two nights, tried opening the window and running the fan, and nothing helped. Coworkers staying that week said their rooms were fine, so I went to the desk and asked to switch. The young man there, whose name I can't recall, responded with a condescending, unempathetic look and offered to send maintenance first, even though I had already asked for another room. I told him to move me and let maintenance handle the issue separately. The other desk staff were polite and professional, and never made me feel like a nuisance. I tried to keep things friendly and asked how his day was going; he said it could be better, which made me feel like I was bothering him. This was Wednesday 01/07/2026 around 5 pm. The new room was dramatically better, with no condensation or excess humidity.

After a long drive, it was easy to find Doubletree Norwalk: just off the 5 Freeway, with a quick right turn after the Norwalk Blvd exit going north. The best part was how the front desk helped us with our packed pickup truck while we move from the OC to another state. They let us park by the arrival entrance so they could keep an eye on our belongings, at no extra charge. Everyone was welcoming and accommodating, and my family felt comfortable there. Our room did have a musty, somewhat offensive smell when we entered. We were too tired to do anything about it, and it wasn't as bad as this may sound, but I'd ask for a different room if I got the same issue again. The facility's convenience and comfort, plus the exceptional staff, outweighed that room problem for me. I'd stay again. I'd rate it around 4.3 overall.

Cinthia made our stay so much better. She helped us sort out packages, lost keys, and even a room that had been cancelled by accident, and never made me or my friends feel like we were a bother. She's really personable and always made us feel welcome. If you're staying here, ask for Cinthia!

The breakfast buffet was a nice spread, and Nelly was really attentive and kind. Check-in was great too. The room itself needs work: the shower leaked onto the floor even with the door shut, and the bathroom sink smelled odd and leaked when it was off. At happy hour I thought Katy was nice and working hard, but she kept checking with everyone else and seemed to skip over me when asking if people needed anything. She looked seriously understaffed, especially with a special event going on. Those events are planned ahead, so staffing should account for the expected crowd.

I like staying here for the comfortable beds, linens, and towels, plus all the dining and entertainment nearby. It's also close to the freeway. The staff are consistently great, especially "T" and Denise at the front desk, who are both friendly and helpful. And getting the hot chocolate chip cookies at check-in is a nice touch.
