Hampton Inn Norwich

The front desk team and shuttle drivers were so friendly. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the casino was only a few minutes away. We came for a weekend with friends and had a great time. Would recommend.

The coffee was a real highlight, and you could get it throughout the day. Breakfast was fresh, organized, and had a good range of choices. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, which made the stay even nicer. Our room was clean, hygienic, and well cared for. Hampton Inn Norwich is a great place to stay in the area, and I’d happily come back.

Chris at the desk was welcoming and kind when I arrived. Neither of us realized I’d been assigned the wrong studio because he thought I was booked with another company. I discovered the mix-up when I came back with lunch and my key stopped working. It seemed like an honest mistake, and Chris stayed pleasant while we sorted it out. The later problem was my reservation, which apparently had been booked for an extra night. When I raised it with General Manager Nicole Clark, she told me to check out ASAP instead of first asking questions. Her manner felt dismissive right from the beginning. My manager tried to explain the booking by phone, but storm-related service problems caused the call to drop twice. Nicole sarcastically said, “Okay, hang up on me, great,” even though the disconnections were due to bad service, not intentional. While I was close enough to hear, she told my manager I’d called her “condescending,” as if that was unreasonable, despite how she’d spoken to me. I have the conversation recorded. She told my manager, rather than me, that I could move my belongings out of the studio and into a basic room. I understand room types and policies, but the abrupt, condescending way she communicated this didn’t feel professional or focused on resolving things calmly. Nicole didn’t say anything directly negative to me, but there was a horrible undertone beneath what came across as hospitality. I was left feeling dismissed and unheard, and found her rude for someone posing as a manager in hospitality. I know hospitality can be stressful, especially during a storm, but respectful, professional communication matters, particularly from a general manager. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

Kiana at reception was outstanding, warm, friendly, and kind. This was our fifth visit, and the comfort and service are always so good. We missed Liam the bartender this time, but he deserves all the praise for great service. From the MA girls, Melissa, Becca, and Emily. Looking forward to coming back to the Hampton Inn :)
