Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center

My room was clean and smelled fresh, and the sheets and towels were clean too. Everyone on staff was friendly and a pleasure to deal with, so I'm enjoying my stay and would choose Le Meridien again. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness and upkeep at The Westin Chicago Lombard when I stayed there in 2025. If you're deciding between the two, I'd go with Le Meridien.

We left after just one night, even though we'd prepaid for two. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. The dirty room, useless temperature control, poor service, and terrible spa experience made for a stay that failed on the basics. The room was filthy and clearly hadn't been properly cleaned, which isn't acceptable at any hotel, especially for guests paying to stay there, including Bonvoy members. It was also unbearably hot, and the thermostat did nothing. I could barely sleep. Check-in was slow, disorganized, and unprofessional. Staff weren't especially professional either. We had booked a couples massage for our vacation expecting a real spa, but the “spa” was just a renovated guest room. It felt misleading and disappointing, with no spa atmosphere or chance to relax. The massage was poor, rushed, and seemed unskilled, with little care for comfort or technique. I came away frustrated instead of relaxed. If you're after a proper spa with trained staff and a quality massage, look elsewhere. The whole thing felt like false advertising.

Maxine, the Guest Services Supervisor, made sure I was comfortable and well looked after. She and the team helped make my visit relaxing, and I'll definitely come back. There was some maintenance going on during my stay. I took that as a sign they were investing in updates. I had a very good visit and appreciated the care I received.

The location is great, with Oakbrook mall and restaurants within walking distance. Cheesecake factory shares the parking lot. The place was clean and well appointed, and breakfast is served European style on the top floor.
