Holiday Lodge Hotel & Conference Center

The room was a good size, clean, and stocked with towels and soap, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and warned us about daytime construction while the whole place is being renovated. There wasn't any Wi-Fi during our stay, which they said was due to the extensive work. Breakfast was good, with sausage, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, French toast, cereal, bagels, and the usual extras. They also had coffee, orange juice, hot water, and apple juice. We'd definitely stay again when we're back through next year.

I reserved several rooms for a family event, and with few large hotels in the area, this seemed like the best available choice. It's a very large building that started out as a Holiday Inn, with spacious common areas. The included breakfast was served in a roomy, comfortable dining area that was clean and well kept. The rooms are a good size and usually cost under $100 a night. The hotel is right off Route 19, exceptionally clean, and has a small staff that's very friendly and helpful. Katie, the manager, is devoted to the place and tries hard to meet guests' needs. It does need updating and renovation. We were told it's under new ownership and work will happen soon, and it could be grand when it's finished. It's not a five star hotel, but for the choices around the rustic NR Gorge area, they're doing the best with what they have. For this area, I'd call it five star.

We booked the hotel for a large group of wedding guests. It's spacious and conveniently located, and the hospitality room we used was excellent. The building needs renovation, though it was very clean, and the staff went out of their way to help our guests. Katie, the manager, was very good to work with. Renovations are underway, and I imagine they could be a lot for her to manage. I hope the work continues, because this place could become a gem.
