The beach is just two blocks away, and there are plenty of places to walk to, including shops, restaurants, coffee spots, a grocery store, Dairy Queen, and a good sub shop. The Anchor Inn is in a really handy spot. We’ve vacationed in Oak Island for years and are glad we found it. We bring our dogs, and this is the cleanest, nicest pet-friendly room we’ve stayed in. The online photos match what the rooms actually look like. The rooms are spotless and cutely decorated, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Terri, the manager, really goes out of her way to make sure your stay is a good one. We’ll keep coming back on future trips.

The room was clean, comfortable, and felt safe, which mattered most to me. It’s also been nicely renovated and has a cute fridge and freezer. Just be prepared to bring your own toiletries, including soap, and an ice cube tray if you like having ice. When I had a question or needed something like extra towels, getting a response took quite a while, around 4-8 hours.

It’s an easy walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants around town. Our room at Anchor Inn was adorable, with everything redone, from the lovely floors to the bright white bathroom. I especially liked the painted wood ceilings, though the retro fridge might have been my favorite. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The kids were happy with the pool and all the ice cream places within walking distance, and we’d absolutely come back as a family. Our room was very clean, with a spotless tub and a mini fridge and coffee bar. It’s also a short walk to the beach. The property manager was helpful when we needed extra towels or another pillow.

We only stayed one night, but the Anchor Inn Motel worked perfectly for us. The staff were friendly and kept us updated without us having to ask. Our room was clean and quaint, and those fluffy bath towels were a nice touch. It was a pleasant stay.
