Mr. G at the Fairfield by Marriott made us feel welcome right from the moment we arrived. He was genuinely warm and kind, and helped with whatever we needed, from answering questions to sorting out accommodations and checking that we were comfortable. His patient, professional manner and sincere smile made a real difference. His kindness felt heartfelt, not just like customer service, and he clearly takes pride in making guests feel valued and cared for. Mr. G is a real asset to the hotel, and we're grateful for his assistance. Thank you for such thoughtful service!

The drive to YNP takes 1.5hrs and can be rough for anyone prone to carsickness, whichever Oakhurst hotel you choose. I wouldn't stay here again, I'd pick the Hampton next door. Its fitness center is better than this hotel's, which is a shame since Marriott could have done better with a new Fairfield. They skimped on the FC, perhaps because the place is so packed with tour bus clients that they don't care. The rest of the place was great. Breakfast is much like other M properties and the big three mid-level chains, with coffee in jugs. At least the newer HIEX have Costa Coffee machines for fresh brewed coffee 24/7. Bravo to the HIEX that have them.

The mountain view from our suite was lovely, and there was plenty of room with tons of outlets for charging devices. After a Yosemite hike, the comfortable bed and strong shower pressure were welcome. Leah at the front desk was especially welcoming and really knows customer service. Breakfast was great, with lots of options, and the older woman running it was very attentive to everyone's needs. Great location, about an hour from Yosemite. I'd definitely recommend it to visitors.

Check-in was quick and easy, and the basic room had everything I needed for a night in Oakhurst. Breakfast comes with the room, which is great, though as a European I found it quite simple. Some cheese or cold cuts for the bagels would be nice. The older woman looking after the buffet was quite theatrical another morning. She loudly told everyone she was doing everything alone without help and only had tone for a coffee. That made for some pretty unique breakfast entertainment.

The hotel is in a perfect spot, with all the stores and restaurants you could ask for within reach. My room on the 4th floor was very clean, with a beautiful mountain view and a nice big TV that can stream Netflix. The front desk staff were welcoming and professional. The woman working in the kitchen made breakfast feel like eating at home, and she was sweet and accommodating. A perfect place for a getaway in the mountains around Oakhurst/Yosemite.
