Underwood Motel

The refrigerator was unplugged when we arrived, so we had nowhere to keep our cold items, and the wall plugs were hanging out by their wires. In June, the air conditioning was off and it was 86F inside. The unit was tiny and at the farthest point from the bed. It ran all night but only brought the temperature down to 76 by the time we left in the morning. Probably one of the 4 or 5 worst hotels we've stayed in.

For two hot, tired travellers, this was a great place to stay. The rooms are completely refurbished and the place is under new management. The new A/C worked great, and we appreciated the bright overhead light instead of just two dim bulbs by the bed. Direct access from the parking lot was another plus, since hallway access is more common these days. A gem for people who support small businesses.

A nice place to call home, or just a cheap, well kept room away from the city.

Terrible service. I arrived early in the morning with my family, and they only came out to tell me the place was closed and there was no service, even though there were few guests.
