I felt safe thanks to the security measures, and the owner has added thoughtful little touches that made a strong impression. They have a strict no-smoking policy, understandably, but also provide a place for people who choose to smoke. That's smart. The building is about 30 years old and run-down, but the owners have clearly tried to make the stay beautiful and comfortable. My room was very clean, and the bedding was more comfortable and higher quality than what I've had at most chain hotels on recent trips. The shower was almost a spa experience. I had a hard time getting ready to check out without taking one last shower. I highly recommend this hotel.

After talking with them about service pet laws, I was allowed to stay even though I'd initially been denied with my service dog. The room was clean, and I felt comfortable and safe.

The front desk staff were really nice and accommodating, and it was easy to find and park. Cleaning wasn't thorough, though. Don't count on the tables and other surfaces being clean.

We arrived to find three guys in face masks staring at us while spray painting their car and blasting music. We felt unsafe enough that we left and stayed in another part of the city. I don't regret switching hotels. Stay away. The reviews had been good, the front desk guy was nice, and the room itself was fine, but the place didn't feel safe at all.

Very close to Kaiser Hospital. The rooms were simple, clean, and well cared for, but they weren't like a modern, renovated motel or hotel. The parking area and paths to the rooms felt bleak, even with all the colorful plastic flowers in the planters.
