The Hotel At Oberlin

I love staying here when I visit my child, who attends Oberlin College, whether I'm picking them up or dropping them off. The hotel is beautiful, and the location in the center of town is wonderful, near lots of restaurants and nice shops. Oberlin is such a cute little town. I also appreciate the hotel's commitment to helping the environment.

The hotel is well run and clean, and I liked the environmental features. Its profits support the college scholarship fund. The lobby restaurant is nice and serves good food, though it took a while to get our food each time, so they could schedule servers better. I think it's the only local hotel actually in Oberlin. There's no pool or room service, but you have places to eat right outside on Main St. or at 1833 in the lobby. There's a gym too, though I didn't use it.

The staff is primo, and I love how thoughtfully appointed the hotel is, especially its design. I'm already looking forward to coming back.

We were in town for friends' wedding and liked the hotel's sustainability focus. The room was nice, clean, and had a comfortable bed. A few things could be better: the bedroom needed more light while we got ready for wedding events, I would've preferred a full shower door instead of a half one, and the bathroom door was awkward to get around and hit the toilet before opening all the way. It was also oddly heavy compared with our friends' room door. You can hear neighboring rooms a little, but barely, at least during our stay. The free-admission museum is on the same block. Food options nearby weren't bad; we ate at Main Street Grille and got takeout from 1833.
