Inn at Occidental

We loved our night here for my husband's birthday. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the place felt peaceful and cozy. Really good restaurants are just a half-minute walk away, which made the location perfect. The staff were lovely, and the evening wine hour with live music was such a treat.

I loved how quiet and peaceful it was here. The staff were always there when we needed help, but otherwise seemed to melt away. Our room looked out over the courtyard and trees, and had antiques, artwork, a fireplace, and a big jacuzzi tub. It's such a warm sanctuary, nothing like a cold, ordinary hotel. The owners' care shows in all the details. The Inn is a beautiful, charming place tucked half a block from the equally charming town of Occidental. From here, it's easy to get to the ocean, Sebastopol, wineries, and plenty of places to explore in Northern California. We loved winding down in the wine bar by the big fireplace and baby Grand piano, or outside on the patio under the stars, surrounded by redwoods, maples, and flowers. There are a few carpeted stairs to manage going to our room, the wine bar, and the dining area. They were easy enough for us, but they're there. Some rooms have their own decks, so we'll try one next time. We can't wait to return. This is one of the most charming, beautiful, and warm places we've stayed.

We enjoyed the hot tub in our room every morning, and the gas fireplace kept things warm even though “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” We had another great three-night stay. Our hosts are always ready to help make the visit enjoyable. Next time, we're looking forward to experiencing Hazel.

We stayed in the sunny summer room, with its deck and hilarious mermaid painting. The room has a massive bathtub, too. Breakfast was delicious. You can walk into the little town, and Western Hills garden is a five-minute drive away, though don't try walking there. Osmosis is about seven minutes away. We missed the wine and music this time, so we'll be sure to stay for that next visit.
