The smell was horrible, and the only good thing about this hotel was its location. My room wasn’t clean and had mold, ants and slugs in the bathroom, a bird in the bathroom ceiling, and what looked like foundation problems. I was on the ground floor. When I went to the desk, the woman working wasn’t there. Once she showed up, she offered me a broom for the insects. They said they were full and offered their sister hotel, Tideland, but when I asked if the room would be equivalent, they said no and wouldn’t refund the difference. I arrived Saturday and planned to stay until Monday, but left Sunday. When I went to the sister hotel to use its amenities, I saw a colony of ants eating a French fry. Another guest had just checked in and was angry because their room wasn’t clean either. I called Monday to speak with the GM “Mickey.” They said they’d look into my booking, but never called back. I’ll report the company to the BBB and have already started the process of reporting it to the attorney general.

We’d stay again. The place fit our family and the price, and the staff were friendly and easy to talk to when we needed something. We liked the location and how easy it was to get to the beach, and the pool was nice. The towels, linens, mattresses, kitchen and bathroom were clean, and we didn’t see any bugs. The online photos make the rooms look nicer than they are, and there were some issues: cracked bathroom floor tiles, a fridge that leaked several times, dirty dishes that someone had put away, trash behind the couch, and gross unknown stuff on two doors, maybe pizza sauce or blood. We told staff about the fridge and they did what they could. Still, it worked for us.

We came to OC for a budget-friendly weekend with my two teenagers and just needed a room to sleep and shower in. For that, this worked fine. The location is perfect, the small parking lot worked for our one car, and the pools were okay for a quick dip, though small and a bit crowded. People seemed to enjoy the second-floor pool bar. Staff were great, too. We asked at the office for extra towels and they brought warm, clean ones up right away. You get what you pay for. If you want a cozy room to lounge in, pay more and stay elsewhere. The rooms weren’t very clean, with dust built up on the AC, a dirty mini-fridge, and only one usable outlet.

The room itself was cute, but the whole experience was a disgrace. We had two toddlers with us and workers were doing construction in the same building where we were sleeping. The website said the work was “in the area,” not in the building. Everything around us was torn up, and they shouldn’t have rented out that building while it was under construction. If I’d known, I never would have booked. We couldn’t even find the building because the numbers were faded or had fallen off. Terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We were given false information and then charged full price after checking out only 1.5 hours into our stay. We needed a last-minute place for the family, and on the phone they said there was a pool and a crib or pack and play on site. Neither was there. At check-in, they said the crib would arrive shortly, but after waiting an hour and a half it still hadn’t come. We wouldn’t have booked if we’d known. I also had to pull an eyelash extension my one-year-old found on the bathroom floor out of her mouth. The air filter blew dust and triggered my son’s asthma, though thankfully we had his inhaler. There were mild spots on the ceiling too. We left because of the misinformation, poor cleanliness, and my son’s asthma attack, but they refused any refund. We also left our own pillows behind and were told nothing was there when we called.
