Bay Princess 211 2 Br condo by RedAwning

The condo was absolutely beautiful, and we loved our week there while visiting Ocean City MD. From our balcony, I got a great sunset picture and a pretty view of Fenwick Island. I need to come back.

We arrived around 5 PM with our three kids, ages 5, 3, and 1.5. By the time we’d carried our things upstairs, it was about 5:45. The condo hadn’t been cleaned at all. There was sand and food crumbs around, food left in the fridge and on the counters, sand in the tubs, hair on the floor and in the bathroom, spit and dried toothpaste in the bathroom sink, and clothes and other belongings left by the previous tenants. A decorative lantern was broken, with glass on the floor. With our 1.5-year-old there, we dealt with the glass and food on the floor first. Cleaning the whole place took me more than five hours. We called and left messages for management and took pictures. They said the cleaning crew had come at 4:40, which seemed impossible, and claimed there was no way to prove the photos were taken before we disturbed anything. I sent timestamps and kept trying to reach them. Later they emailed that we hadn’t contacted them promptly, even though we have proof that we did. Management handled the situation terribly.

The condo itself was perfect for our group, a 4 out of 5 with no complaints. The staff brought the experience down to one star. If you like sitting on the balcony, this may not be the place for you. Security watched us from the parking lot between 6 and 10 or 11 PM. There were eight of us, and if they thought we were being loud, they yelled at us. We were uncomfortable sitting outside and worried we might be evicted, as other reviews have said. The pool attendant was rude and unhelpful. A friend and I brought our envelope and pool tags with the code on it, tried several times, and couldn’t get in. We showed her the tags, and she said the code was “totally wrong,” then walked away without helping. We called the home office, got the correct code after 5-10 minutes, and were able to enter. We spoke with security and stopped smoking immediately when told smoking wasn’t allowed, even outdoors, but they still knocked on our door late after we’d corrected the noise and smoking issues. It wasn’t relaxing. It felt like senior week when we were teenagers, even though we’re all in our mid-30s.

We had a roomy, open layout and a nice balcony for winding down in the evening. The room was clean and came with a washer, dryer, and other major appliances. The beach is right across the street, which made the location great. We’d definitely stay again, and probably will.
