Biscayne Suites

We loved staying here so much that we bought a condo! The sunrise from room 314 is incredible. You can sit on the balcony with coffee and see the ocean. Sue at the front desk is so friendly and helpful, and housekeeping keeps everything sparkling clean. The crisp white sheets are super soft. There’s a king bed and a pull-out queen sofa, plus two big smart TVs. Biscayne is two blocks from the best part of the boardwalk by the music pier, right among the holiday festivities, including the tree lighting, parades, drone shows, and shopping on Asbury Ave. Restaurants are everywhere, and there’s a cute ice cream place next door. If you don’t want to get sandy, spend the day in the heated rooftop pool. You can eat up there at one of the many tables and watch the sunset. The matching tables and lounge chairs by the pool look new and are clean.

In room 118 the mattress was the softest I’ve ever slept on, and not in a good way. At least we were only there one night. They also used a flat sheet instead of a fitted one on the bottom. I don’t think this is a three-star hotel or deserves a 4.5 rating.

My sister and brother checked in, and my brother noticed he was being bitten while sleeping on the pull-out couch. When he looked, bedbugs were crawling all over it. The staff offered to move them to another room and comp one night, but my sister was too uncomfortable to stay and left. They offered to launder her clothes, but I think they should have comped the whole stay. The staff seemed very nonchalant. They asked whether the kids had sat on the couch, and when she said yes, the manager replied, “Oh well, maybe shower them.” They also said they wouldn’t comp the full stay because they didn’t want to take money away from the owner. The owners should make sure the rooms are cleaned properly so this doesn’t happen. Beware!

Our superior suite was very spacious and had a balcony facing the ocean, though you couldn’t see the water from it. The manager let us check in early and leave our car for two hours after checkout. We’d definitely stay again.
