Harrison Hall Hotel

The staff were lovely at check-in, during our stay, and when we left, and I'd definitely come back. We had a king oceanfront room, not a corner one. It was small but just right for two. The bathroom barely works for one person, though; in the shower you're touching both walls. The bed was so worn and squishy that it gave no support, and the room's cleanliness was iffy, though not awful. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do, all within walking distance, and the hop over to the beach was easy. We also enjoyed the pretty porch in the evening, looking out at the ocean with a couple of drinks. We were there from 9/12-9/15.

The front porch overlooking the boardwalk was a great place to start the day with coffee from the lobby bar. There aren't balconies, but we really enjoyed sitting out there. Our room was basic and a little small, but clean, with the essentials covered and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was tighter than I'd like, and the TV service could use improvement, with limited channels and stretched standard-definition picture. We didn't use the pool, though it looked clean and roomy, and there's a bar on the deck. Parking was straightforward, with a few spaces along the building, a small lot behind it, and a larger lot across the street. That one wasn't far, and we barely needed the car after arriving. The boardwalk is right there, with the beach just steps away and plenty of shops, restaurants, and bike rentals close by. My wife and I had a great weekend and would stay again without hesitation.

The outside of Harrison Hall is beautiful, and it's right on the boardwalk. We liked the lobby and front porch too. Inside, though, the rooms are small and due for an update. We paid premium rates for four nights during Ocean’s Calling, but our room was cleaned only once, on Saturday. When we returned, an expensive hair product was gone from the dresser. Staff made a note of it, but did NOTHING to fix the situation or make it right.

The boardwalk location is the one good thing. The room was filthy and horribly small. My family and I kept bumping into one another the whole vacation. Dirt was everywhere, from the bathroom sink and toothpaste-stained faucet to the walls, toilet-paper holder, and shower floor. There were cobwebs and dust in the holder, stained towels and washcloths, and something suspiciously white on the shower walls. The shower is absurdly tiny, its sliding doors were broken and coming off their hinges, and it wouldn't fit anyone who isn't small. There's no microwave or coffee maker in the room, just an ice bucket. The TV picture was blurry and the sound was awful. The beds were extremely squishy, so they're a bad choice if you have back issues. I could keep going. It was a horrible stay, and I won't be back.
