The room was filthy, and management wasn’t helpful. Several things didn’t work: the TV, Wi-Fi, and fridge, plus two stove burners. The toaster also seemed like a fire hazard. When I reported the fridge, they insisted it worked and told me to keep the door shut. I know what a working fridge is like. It spoiled a lot of our food, and milk we’d just bought curdled within five days. The sofa smelled so bad it made my friend gag, and the upstairs smelled moldy. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free.

The room looked nice at first, but there was sand on the sheets and stains on the towels. The floor wasn’t clean either. We had to change our own sheets several times, and there weren’t any hand towels. Every day I noticed an old washcloth left over the shower bar. It wasn’t ours, and it looked like they may have cleaned the shower with it and left it there. This place needs better cleaning, new towels, and new sheets. It wasn’t cheap, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

We paid almost $300 a night with fees and taxes, plus $10 each night for parking, even though the website says parking is free. The room was filthy: the towels looked yellow and dingy, there were no hand towels, and an old wet washcloth was draped over the shower bar. The sheets and pillowcases were stained. After we called, the office brought replacements, but we had to put them on ourselves. Those sheets were stained too, and after the third round I’d had enough. It was 11:30 p.m. on Friday, and the manager supposedly wasn’t around all weekend. I called nearly every hotel nearby, but none had a vacancy, so we were stuck there for three nights. I slept fully covered, with a sweatshirt hood over my head and socks on. When the manager was there at checkout, I explained what happened and asked for a discount. She refused because we’d slept there, even after I told her there was nowhere else for us to go. She suggested maybe doing something for us next time. I laughed and said there wouldn’t be a next time. Another woman waiting to check out said her room was disgusting too, and they’d arrived only the night before. I wouldn’t recommend the place, and I didn’t even want to give it one star.

The room was clean, the staff were pleasant and helpful, and the beds were soft. I personally prefer a firmer mattress, but that’s just me. The fridge, microwave, AC, lamp, and TV all worked, and there was an ice machine in the hall. For the low price compared with nearby hotels, it was more than I expected. It’s a small room with two double beds, a dresser and TV, a little table, and a fridge with the microwave on top. The single window faced another building, so the view wasn’t much, but we didn’t mind. The beds were against opposite walls with a nightstand and lamp between them. The narrow aisle meant only one person could walk through at a time, and the person on the wall side had to get in from the foot or climb over. We made do. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious and clean, with a nice sink and drawers, towel rack, toilet, and shower. We stored our suitcases there. There’s no tub, so bathing small children wouldn’t work. The outlets were too loose to hold plugs, which made charging things difficult, and the bathroom door latch didn’t work right. We told the staff at checkout, and they apologized. Neither issue was a big deal for us. Parking is across the street in a lot with red signs for the hotel; there’s no charge, and they give you a pass for your mirror. The office is in a separate building off to the side of the one shown in the photos, but there are signs pointing the way. The beach is about a 2-3 block walk. Traffic was heavy at times, and there was nearby construction, which was frustrating but had nothing to do with the hotel. We didn’t let the small space or little inconveniences spoil our vacation, especially given the price and location. Don’t expect turn-down service, someone bringing you a latte, or poolside loungers, there’s no pool. As long as you know what you’re getting, I’d recommend it. I’ve saved it as our go-to for another visit to OCMD.
