Watson's Regency Suites

The location, covered parking, and easy check-in were good, but the room was dated and had several problems: missing molding, dusty carpet edges, rust or mold in the kitchen air/heat vent, an old shower head, and crumbs under the sofa bed. The heating system rattled loudly, probably because the vents were old and loose. We picked the Watson's for the indoor pool after staying at the Flanders last Easter without these issues, but we're unlikely to return. There was loud music from a balcony over the pool, and a birthday group had lots of kids throwing a soccer ball around, which hit a woman with a young child. We were on the second floor, where several rooms had large groups leaving their doors open day and night. The hallway smelled strongly of marijuana on the way to our room.

The front desk ladies were very friendly, and the location was great, just one block from the boardwalk. The room, however, was really outdated. The carpet was filthy, and there was visible dust, debris, and crumbs behind the couches and beds, like it hadn't been vacuumed in ages. The sofa bed felt like plywood, though the bathroom was clean. The pool area was very loud with several unsupervised kids, and someone on the patio above it was blasting rap from a Bluetooth speaker. Our floor also smelled strongly of marijuana.

The room and view were great, and the front desk staff were very sweet. We had a wonderful, efficient room attendant, Miss Nancy. It's a great place in the off season, with few crowds and plenty to walk to, and the turn down service was great. The heated pool temperature was inconsistent: perfect Friday, too cold Wednesday night and Thursday, and only kind of okay Saturday. If the advertisement says heated pool, it should stay heated. Thank you.

Watson’s has always been special to me. My Nana used to take my cousins and me there for summer vacations when we were babies, and now I get to bring my own kids. It was excellent back then, and it still is!
