Shawmont Hotel

The location was nice, but my experience with the staff was not. They misrepresented the amenities to get me to book, then wouldn't take responsibility once I arrived. All I got was “too bad.” I'd look for a business I could trust to be more reliable.

The rooms were bright, clean, and updated, and the main lobby was open enough for 15 yoga mats. I did a sound bath there and could see and feel the ocean from inside. The hotel has a wonderful energy, and Anna, the general manager, has a heart of gold. It's rare to find an updated oceanfront hotel on the Jersey Shore. A true hidden gem, and definitely worth a stay.

This was year three for our Family & Friends group at The Shawmont, and we had another great stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the front porch rockers are perfect for hanging out. The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Night Mgr. Eileen knows so much about the area. You're right across Ocean Ave. from the Beach, with shops and restaurants in Ocean Grove within walking distance. Go a little farther and you can reach everything Asbury park has to offer. We'll be back next year.

I've stayed here twice in the past couple of months, and it's become my favorite place for an Asbury show or a visit to Ocean Grove. The location on Ocean Ave has clear ocean views, and the hotel fits beautifully into Ocean Grove. It has more charm and friendlier staff than the hotels in Asbury Park. The porch overlooking the boardwalk and ocean is lovely, and the recently remodeled lobby is a good spot to recap the day or meet for a drink before dinner. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The cleaning staff does an amazing job, freshening everything up while we're out. Everyone is friendly and greets you with a smile.
