The Lillagaard B&B

Getting to the beach is easy on sunny days, and management has plenty of beach chairs, discounted beach tags, and fluffy towels. The refrigerators are handy for wine, snacks, or leftovers. I had a great stay at the Lillagaard, and despite Hurricane Erin, Suzanne kept things comfortable and interesting. I can’t say enough good things about it.

The sunny weather, beautiful sunsets, full moon over the ocean, sugar sand beaches, and even dolphin sightings made the trip wonderful. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll be back. Lillagaard B&B was the perfect place to stay in Ocean Grove, a true hidden gem in NJ. It’s quaint, with three front porches and delicious breakfasts, right across from the boardwalk and a pristine beach. Restaurants and shops on Main Ave are a short walk away, and Asbury Park is about a seven-minute walk along the boardwalk. Thank you!

The staff are what made our visit memorable. Thank you to Suzanne, Brie, and the whole Lillagaard team for being so warm and gracious and making us feel at home. My wife was in town for the 2025 Ocean Grove Church Choir Festival, and we stayed two nights at the Lillagaard Bed and Breakfast Inn. The inn was peaceful, charming, and dainty, and it was kept impeccably clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend the Lillagaard to anyone visiting beautiful Ocean Grove.

The twin room was a little small, though that makes sense in an old building. The breakfast was very good, and the large dining area was comfortable and accommodating. Coffee is available around the clock, along with soda and bottled water in the shared refrigerator for just $1.00. The innkeeper is personable and helpful, and the place was very clean. The porches are awesome. I stayed one night recently and wished I could have stayed longer. Can’t wait to return to beautiful Ocean Grove and The Lillagaard.
