The Collins Inn and Seaside Cottages

Collins Inn & Seaside Cottages has become our Ocean Shores tradition, and we've returned every year since 2020. We found it in a rush after checking out of another hotel that called itself paradise, and it turned into one of our best travel discoveries. The cottages feel like a private coastal home, with a fireplace, stove, dishwasher, and fridge. Rose, the owner, used to treat us to fresh-baked cookies. Breakfast service has ended, but the full kitchens make it easy to cook and eat before walking by the water. At night, the starry sky is a reminder of why Washington beaches are so special for romance and reflection. Damon Point used to be our quiet escape, but it's changed and is now closed to the public. A few minutes away, Roosevelt Beach has broad open sand, golden cliffs, and a peaceful beauty that feels like a private paradise. It's lovely for stargazing, clamming, or just taking a deeper breath. Check-in and check-out are easy. Over the years, some rooms have shown their age and could have used more dusting, but the welcoming feeling has never disappointed us. Rose has been at the heart of the inn. As fellow business owners, we understand that seasons change and wish her health and happiness. For a private, romantic, authentic Ocean Shores getaway, this place has become a legacy for us.

The Pacific room was cozy and quiet, with a fireplace, a huge tub, bay-style windows, and a large tiled shower with multiple shower heads. There isn't an ocean view from this room, and I couldn't hear the ocean either. It came with fruit, muffin tops, candy, a breakfast burrito and a French toast item in the mini fridge, plus cookies on arrival. There were wine glasses, silverware, an ice bucket, bottle opener and wine key, microwave, mini fridge, and coffee bar. Outside there are benches and corn hole, with chess downstairs. The beach across the street is currently closed, apparently, but that's not a huge deal. It's close to town and beach access. The TV doesn't get many movie channels. I think I love this place.

A charming room with lots of character, a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and six-jet shower. It came stocked with a ready-to-heat breakfast sandwich and French toast, and there were plenty of fruits and snacks in the hallway. The sofa chairs were big and comfy. There's no closet, just a hanger rack, and no dining table, only a small coffee table.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the place has cute decorations. It's a small, cute room with an in-room hot tub, TV (not smart), utensils, welcome cookies, and drinks. I did wonder about the cleaning: there was hair on the shower drain, maybe a dryer sheet beside the bed, and a popcorn kernel on the carpet. At least the bed sheets seemed to have been changed.
