Coast Inn

I stayed for all of July 2024, and after reading reviews from a few different sources, I can understand some of their opinions. Here's my take: this isn't a three- or four-star hotel. It was that kind of place when it was built, but people now expect things found at a different type of hotel. It's older and needs a few updates, which is why people complain about the building and staff. Still, for a budget-friendly room near the beach with free parking, it has everything you need and should want. The manager is more than nice, kind, and friendly. They give generously to organizations asking for hotel stays for people going through enough already, who need to get off the streets or away from an abusive person. Thank you to the managers who run this great hotel, and to the staff for your kindness to me and everyone you serve. Staying here was a blessing. I'm forever grateful. You made me feel safe and helped me believe I can get through what I'm facing. The Coast inn has what you need for a quick night or a longer stay. Thank you very much.

A hidden gem with friendly staff, though the small rooms need remodeling and it's not a five-star hotel. I had a frightening paranormal experience around midnight. Something in my room was making noise, and my grocery bags started moving on their own. I was terrified.

The location is incredible, and parking was always available. The place felt safe and well lit, the beds were comfortable, and the towels were always clean. I even had an ocean view from our bathroom and watched the sunset through our window. I stayed for a while and was always impressed by how friendly and helpful the people who own this hotel are. They're super sweet. I highly recommend staying here. It felt like a home away from home!

At night, my guest and I got cold. The heater worked off and on, but there was no knob to control it. When I went to the front desk to ask about heating, they told me none of the rooms have heat and to wait 30 minutes. I thought maybe they'd bring a heater, but nothing happened. We decided to leave for another hotel. Afterward, I was told there would be no refund, and that I don't pay to have a heater in my room. Earlier, when we arrived at the Coast Inn in Oceanside, the room hadn't finished being cleaned, so I waited outside while a very kind, excellent maid with a good attitude finished up. She did a very good job and was a sweet lady. I'd arranged for three people and requested two beds. They gave me two beds and two rooms for the same price, which was the lowest hotel rate in the area. Overall, it had been a blessed experience until we needed heat.
